KL in 12hrs. (Malaysia 2017)
Back in 2011, while I was still in the Glee fandom, I met two beautiful lasses that became a huge part of my life: Emma from the UK and Wynnie from Malaysia. It's been a dream of mine to meet the two of them one day. And since I was preparing to meet Emma, as I was bound to travel to the UK, I said to myself why not meet Wynnie as well? Unfortunately, I couldn't file a vacation leave as the slots were already full for December. Which is why I had no choice but to make my trip all in one day. I really wanted to meet her so bad that's why I did everything that I can do. I took the last flight to Kuala Lumpur that Saturday, and arrived in KL in the wee hours of Sunday which is why I had to stay somewhere near the airport.
We met up at the Sentral Station and took an uber off to the KL Eco Park and KL Tower. And then we went to the Merdeka Square. We both decided to walk on our way back so that we could spend more time together and get to catch up with our lives.
Meeting up with Wynnie really feels like I'm meeting up with an old friend. Just like with Emma, I couldn't believe that I'm spending time with her in real life. It's so weird, we've known each other for a long time, and this is the first time that we met. But at the same time, it really doesn't feel like the first time at all. hahahaha I don't know if that made sense. hahahaha
After that, we both burned the calories that we ate as we walked around the Bukit Bintang district. It's the shopping district of Kuala Lumpur, but it felt like I was walking along the streets of New York. I didn't expect that Kuala Lumpur has such huge malls! hahaha
And then we went to the KLCC park, where you could see the most famous Petronas Towers. I swear I fangirled when I saw the twin skyscrapers in front of me. Para akong nasa movie ni John Lloyd at Bea!! hahahaha And I was so surprised to see na may public pool sila in the middle of the park!! And since it was a Sunday, most parents took their children for a quick dip just to cool off while chilling at the park. I could imagine how filthy the water is, but then again the children were enjoying it anyway. hahahaha
Herbal Egg |
While we were walking around one of the malls, Wynnie made me try this herbal egg. At first I was hesitant, but then again, I'm adventurous with my food, so that's why I gave it a shot. And to my surprise, it was very good. hahahaha A nice snack to eat while walking around.
And for our last stop, we went down to Chinatown to have our dinner before I went back to the airport to catch my flight. Wynnie ordered this chicken dish that's cooked on a clay pot. And, oh. my. god. it was soooooo good. I don't know what it's called, but I would definitely love to eat this again when I go back to Kuala Lumpur.
I never expected that I would fall in love in Kuala Lumpur in such a short time. Their transportation system was so good compared to what we have here, and the best part of it is that the Uber fares are waaaaay cheaper compared here in Manila. I never expected that Kuala Lumpur is such a dynamic city. I would really love go back to Malaysia soon because 12hrs in this city is really not enough. And it was nice to finally spend time with someone you spent years talking via the internet in real life. I'm very thankful that I had this opportunity to travel all the way to Malaysia for the first time, and it's definitely not going to be my last. ❤️
